Hello guys, I’ve got a question regarding aquaforest calcium. They say to dissolve in 1L water and dose 100ml per 100L of tank water. Well my tank is 100L and me adding 100ml of water a day to raise the calcium by 18 is gonna make my tank overflow lol. They say you can make it concentrated so you dont have to add as much solution each time but has anyone done this before? Any issues?

Same with magnesium...

Using they receipt, i need to add 62 liter of solution to raise my mag... ;)

For calcium, guess its best way to:

Dissolve 800 grams of CaCl2 in 1l ro water.

Dosing calculation:

Netto tank water volume X (450-current ca value) X 4.59:1000 = volume of solution to add

Of course, you can make 0.5 litre of solution by adding 400 grams cacl2

500 l total tank+sump volume

450 (desired ca value) - 400 (measured ca value) = 50

500x50X4.59:1000 = 114.75ml of solution.

Of course, daily increase should be max 20, so, divide this 114.75 to 3, equals 38ml of solution for three days, to reach desired ca level.

When desired level is achieved, then NO dosing is performed for next 3 days, then ca is measured again.

Then again using above formula, get dosing amount, divide by 3 and that is your daily dosing...

Sounds complicated, but in fact, very simple.....
