So I’m a college going student, I left my aquariums in my parents care for a few weeks. I come home and it is completely overgrown with algae, the substrate is covered in it, there’s tons of bubble algae on my rocks, I’ve addressed the major shift in parameters but I don’t know how to deal with this overgrowth. My emerald crabs aren’t eating the bubble algae and it’s just completely taken over. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this matter?

pics? Is it mainly bubble algae or are there other kinds like hair algae? Is there cyano?

First, i'd make sure all nutrients are in check. Then, if its hair algae, id temporarily get a sea hare

Also emerald crabs are a hit or miss. If your current ones aren't eating bubble algae, you could try removing and getting new ones
