I have had a pink spotted goby for about 2 weeks in my FOWLR tank with 2 clowns and snails. He seemed perfectly fine until today. Didn’t really come out at feeding time or even go for the bits that went right past his face. His mouth is open and he’s gasping- but neither of my clowns are. It appears his lips are injured or is it some sort of weird infection? Not sure what to do. The one is from a few days ago that’s normal and the other is today.

Id go with it either got into a fight with a clown which surprises me and id say is less likely or the type of substrate you have is bothering its mouth as thats where the damage is. Ive only kept gobies with fine sand and your substrate seems much bigger and sharper which could be bugging its mouth. If anyone else keeps their gobies in this type of substrate that would rule that idea out, but thats what im going with for now

Yeah I feel like the clowns never even go near him- not that that means they didn’t get into it. The LFS has super coarse substrate with their gobies and mine is way less chunky. I forgot to mention I do have a hermit crab that’s not very big but I heard they sometimes try to move them
And maybe the hermit pinched the crap out of him? Hoping he will eat soon! I’m worried

No I don’t see any other issues

I had a clown that didn’t like a new addition. He grabbed him by the mouth and shook the hell out of him.

Not saying that’s the answer, just looks suspicious..

Not much you can do but watch, let us know the outcome in a couple of days.
Beautiful fish, love the coloration.
