Help! Tissue receding on torches and hammers?

Hello all, I have a bit of a dilemma. I’m not sure why but the tissue on the skeleton of my torches and hammers is receding. It happens slowly over months, they the flesh falls out, any ideas on what it could be?

parameters:
Salinity: 1.024
Cal: 480
Mag:1400
Alk:8
Ph:7.8 - 8.1
Nitrate: 20
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite:0
Phosphate: 0.03
Par: ~250-300
Flow: moderate to high

I think those parameters look fine. Maybe the flow is too high and it's injuring them? Any possible critters stressing them out?

I think those parameters look fine. Maybe the flow is too high and it's injuring them? Any possible critters stressing them out?

not seeing any critters and I have tried changing the flow. I actually just increased it a bit thinking they might need more? I have maxspect gyres that we’re on 20% power,Uped it to 40%

I know you posted your parameters, but how often do you test? If you're not checking regularly and there are swings (especially alk) it could definitely cause the problems you are seeing... just a thought.

I check about every week usually. I will try checking my alk more frequently and see if I see any swings. Thanks!

Do you have dinoflagellate in your tank? From the pictures look like you have some. My experienced with euphyllia receding like that is from the toxic released by dino, just run heavy carbon and check the nutrients

I have had them. They seem to be disappearing now. I didn’t know they put off a toxin. Thank you, I’ll have to research that more.
