HELP please! bubble-magus Calcium Reactor leaking

Hi all,

So I have brought a second-hand bubble-magus cr150 calcium reactor (http://www.bubble-magus.com/productinfo.aspx?id=480), and I can not get the thing to stop leaking.

It seems like a bad design, but surely people have it and working without leaking.

So I find when I screw down the top chamber that there is not enough downward pressure to stop water from coming out. I check the seal, and that looks in good condition, I thought might be dirt, so I cleaned and that seem to improve.

currently, I have two vise clamps to help, but I cant keep them there! I wondered if there is a gasket glue I could use to help seal, like when you build car motor!

Can you get a nut on the back side?
May need a longer bolt.

If the thing is warped, you may need to resurface the head?

Get a new gasket, and use silicone grease (not seal) to help stop the flow.

There are two on the back, and all the bolts are nylon bolts, which also makes me wonder if they not holding

If warped it is an easy fix. I have fixed a few of these that are warped. Most the times warped by tihtening down with a bit of media on the flange and then warps over time.

120 grit and 600 grit sandpaper, piece of glass is all you need.

use some adhesive to glue down the 120 grit to one side of the glass and then same thing for the 600 on other side.

Once dry, run the flange across the 120 side and apply even pressure. Do this until no high or low spots. Then flip over and do the same thing on the 600 side to smooth it all out.
