Thanks all! It's a glass cages custom from what I can tell. Really good looking, and in great shape. Distance is from lavergne to Lewisburg. If it is a Marineland tank, it weighs about 400 lbs empty. We had one when we lived in Florida. It stayed lol, but moving it into the house was not that bad. 4 people and some really good suction cups made short work of it.
Do you know of anything or anyone that specializes in it? I'll gladly hire someone to help me tear it all down etc, but the big task is getting it to my house, into the walkout basement.I'd suggest hiring a company to move one that big... they move it, they're responsible for it. I don't know how much one that size even weighs.
You can call Glass Cages and see if they recommend anyone in this area.
Do they ever make it into the midstate?Call Parrott Aquatic. Please tell them I sent you. They may have something going on in your area. 865-253-2846
Laverne to Lewisburg would be best via going though murfreesboro then 231 through shelbyville and then 64 to Lewisburg. Less bumps then 840 to 65. Another option is the triune exit on 840 and then through chapel hill. I had a tank stored at the in laws in Belfast and it was nerve racking getting it to Eagleville via 65 to 840.Thanks all! I posted in a few groups that they are in on FB too.Yes.
I do not know of a company around here that specializes in moving aquariums, we always move things ourselves lol. Cheap Uhaul box truck, as it is flatter than my trucks bed and has a ramp. Also, I do still have the pallet from when we moved the 500 and the pallet for the 300 (300 pallet would probably be best). You are welcome to either and it should aid in the transport process. I would need the pallet back though lol. I build things with the wood and these have some nice grain lol. At least that would be a good way to secure the tank and not have it sitting directly on something.Good idea, yea I'm never a fan of highway. That's another reason if at all possible I'd love to find a company or people that's familiar with doing this successfully to assist.
That's a great idea! I was looking at the 10 foot truck at 1995 a day, but they get you on mileage at .079 a mile. That's a good idea to pallet it! Great idea! I'll keep you in mind for sure for that, and I know the feeling, we used to build stuff out of em too, just haven't had time latelyI do not know of a company around here that specializes in moving aquariums, we always move things ourselves lol. Just let me know. We run out to belfast from time to time, and it would be no biggie to meet up and give ya the pallet. That's a great idea! Is it a marineland tank? Will do! Thank you sir!! I just need to sort the rest of this out so I can get this moving quickly.
Any idea anyone how many people to safely do this?
Tanks 7 foot, load out is fairly easy there's a door you can back up to like maybe 15 feet from the tank, and it's going into my walk out basement which we can get plenty close to
I've never moved anything this big before.
NM missed the glass cages part lol.Is it a marineland tank?
