So in setting up the bigger tank (link below in signature) I’m revamping my old calcium reactor which is a MRC CR-1.
originally this setup was feed by a maxi jet 1200 pump and used a needle valve for adjustments. For the new tank I got a new Kamoer FX STP2 continuous duty pump to use as the feed pump instead of dealing with a needle valve.
Now my question comes to trying to hook up the kamoer to the reactor:
I unscrewed the old needle valve exit port (needle valve was cracked too) and I believe it’s 1/4” male threads?
what part do I need to go from those threads to the kamoer tubing?
and then also same thing for the intake of the reactor, I believe it’s also 1/4 threads but female threaded Do I just used a 1/4 hose barb and have tubing connected from there just sitting in the sump to draw water in? Does the intake line need some kind of pre filter (foam or anything) ?
I figured a few people on this site use the kamoer pumps so maybe someone can help me out.
here’s a couple pics of the setup:
Original needle valve
and then after the needle valve was removed it’s this 1/4” male thread?
This is the flexible tubing that came with the kamoer it’s got 2 sizes
And then this is the intake for the reactor which originally had a 3/4” hose barb attached being fed by the maxi jet.
then this is after it’s removed, I believe it’s just 1/4” female threads?
Ignore the crazy silicone around the CO2 input had a small leak when I originally got the reactor off another reefer. It held watertight for the entire ~3 years it was setup after.
