My 40 breeder will be all set-up soon, on top of all the corals that are being transferred is one of Huey's onyx clowns, a fire shrimp and a pom-pom crab if I don't crush him during the transfer:tongue:

I have been thinking about what fish I would like to add once I am ready. I am thinking of a midas blenny, a carpenter's flasher wrasse and a McCosker's flasher wrasse. Both the wrasses would be males, from what I understand having the two males will help them to retain their vibrant colors. Is the tank big enough to have 2?

Would these fish be ok in a 40B? Any other tips or suggestions would be appreciated as this list is more of a wish list and not set in stone at all. Thanks.

make sure to have a good covered top if you get some flashers. midas blennies are cool. i hear they can be aggressive but i've never had one. i think all the ones you're looking at are small enough to be fine in a 40b.

here's my 40b fishstock:
- mandarin
- pipefish
- peppermint basslet
- 2 banggai cardinals
- 2 b/w clowns
- neon goby
- mexican red head goby
- twin spot hogfish
- pink streaked wrasse

I forgot to mention about the top, I am going to make a top out of 1/4 inch pond netting. So I shouldn't have to worry about carpet surfers.

man you have alot of fish for a 40

yup, lots of fish. i have a well oversized skimmer (ATB small cone), lots of LR (60ish lbs) and feed heavily 2x daily. lucky for me the pipefish and (sometimes) mandarin don't mind frozen foods.

no territory issues (luckily).

I forgot to mention about the top, I am going to make a top out of 1/4 inch pond netting. So I shouldn't have to worry about carpet surfers.

1/4 should work. some people 2x layer the 1/2 inch to make sure nothing gets out. word on the street is that they like riding through overflows too so if you have one of those look into gutter guards as a deterrent.

So my real question is can I have 2 fairy wrasses (McCosker's and Carpenter's) in a 40 gallon breeder?

That is my question, will they be compatible. I know I can buy they and put them in, but I was really looking for someone with experience with them. Thanks though.

i would not put 2 fairy wrasses together in a 40 breeder you will be asking for one of them to jump out they like a lot of room. i have 2 in my 75 and some times i see them fitting for witch side of the tank is there's. but you can all was try it out. if it dose not work i will buy one of them off you and put it in my 125 lol. hope this helps
