Hi guys,

struggling with dinos over the last couple of months, I’ve invested in a microscope but still unsure of species. For me, they look And behave like Amphidinum, but they seem to migrate into the water column at night. Also, my inverts have been dying recently which tells me it’s most likely toxic too.

video isn’t great, but if anyone has experience with these and can tell me which species I have it would be appreciated ! 232F3662-9E8C-4FA1-8D56-3B5A5F3280CA.jpeg CA52A73E-6283-47A9-AEA5-5CEEDEAC2A26.jpeg

agree on amphidinium. Why do you say they go into the water at night? (the sand gets lighter even for types that don't go into water, because they go below the sand surface at night)

although many amphidinium are low/non toxic, some can be toxic.
