It does this multiple times a week...but always comes back to inflated. Water specs are perfect for a BTA....the lighting is more than adaquate...I've fed it a couple times directly over the past couple weeks. Really peculiar.Could just be a bubbletip. Any new pics?

Temp 78.1, pH 8.1, NO2 zero, NO3 zero, NH3 zero, salinity 1.024Hmm. Could you list the parameters? Any idea of the par values? I am not sure why it would do this. Bubbletips are known for changing shape and size.

Alk? Phosphates? To me, just from personal experience it looks like a not to happy BTA. One that hasn’t been happy for a minute… where did you get it and how long ago? How old is the tank?
I got the BTA from Petco about 4 weeks ago. We don't really have a great local place to get salt water fish unfortunately.....but I've had really great luck with the fish from this particular Petco.I don't have a kit to test these in that detail...its the test tube test kit...super basic. The tank is 3 years old and has thriving fish in it.
My test kit is the super basic kind with the test tube and color matching.0ppm nitrate is potentially harmful. Same with 0.00ppm phosphate

I'd consider a nice phosphate test if you don't have one. Try dosing something like reef energy, vitachem, fuel,
