Please help me ID this coral. It was sold as GSP but the polys are throwing me off and making me think it might be something else.

That is a Goniopora! An LPS also called the "flowerpot coral"

Thank you for quick reply. I have had it for a week now. I need to start feeding it I suppose. I have a red Montin and a hammer and wanted to take it easy prior to moving to corals that needed feeding - I guess universe had a different plan!

U don’t really need to worry about feeding these corals.

I always thought Goni and alveopora’s required some feeding. Online searches are recommending the same. I will try to introduce nominal feeding to see how it goes.

So they are most likely not goniopora or alveopora. Goniopora have 24ish tentacles on their polyps, and alveopora have 12ish tentacles. I believe that they are a species of Galaxea. Galaxea are pretty much if a goniopora and a torch had a baby. They will sting anything and everything that they touch/want. They are medium light, I like keeping them in low-medium flow. (I prefer a sweeping flow like where a torch would be)

Respectfully,no, galaxea don't have long stems that protrude from the skeleton. Their polyps don't look like that either.

OP's coral is definitely a goniapora imo
