Cycling question

Hi everyone, I’m currently cycling my first tank.
I have had these test results for quite a few days now. I’m on day 9 of cycling, is it normal that my results are not changing in this stage?

Welcome to the forum! Just a couple questions that will help us out. You've been cycling for 9 days you said. What kind of rock and sand do you have in the tank? Ie dry or live? Also did you happen to add anything to start the cycle? Ammonia, bottled bacteria etc? If so what did you add? Good news is you won't get blasted for using "bad" test kits since those look like Salifert. Good there. Last question. What type of watere did you mix your salt with. Rodi, tap, store bought, etc? And what is your salinity at? I guess that's 2 questions. Sorry.
All this info will help us determine the reason you may not be seeing any movement in your #'s.
Again, welcome were glad you're here!

Hi thank you for the detailed reply first of all! I added ammonia on Augustus the 28 to 1.5/2 ppm i added it a bit later then the tank got setup because i got it in late. I used aquaforest dry rock with aquaforest Bio sand. I add aquaforest BIOs daily butt a bacterial source. Yes indeed i use salifert test kits because i heard those were the best ones except for hanna checkers. But those were a bit to expensive for now. Later down the line I’ll definitely grab some. My salinity is at 1.025 tested with a calibrated refractometer. I used rodi water that i made myself that read 0 tds. I added tropic marine pro reef salt

Unless you use a fast starting nitrifying bacteria like Fritz Turbostart, ammonia reduction can take weeks because the bacteria are slow to start and slow to grow.

Dr Tim’s is slow to start. I don’t know about API Quick Start. If you can afford to buy it , give it a try.
