New member from northern wisco here! Have spent an almost unmeasurable amount of time reading multiple forums over the years but this is the first time ever posting!
Started keeping freshwater fish in 2005 or 2006ish(?) after randomly picking up an ancient steel reinforced 55g glass aquarium at a yard sale for $5.... Everything went downhill from there, breeding cichlids like crazy and many tanks piling up in the basement with babys.
Started my first reef in 2009 with a 155g bowfront and was hooked. Upgraded to a 240g in 2011 with a full room behind it for filtration, frag tanks, the whole works.... That was my favorite setup but moved in 2015 and unfortunately sold it. Setup a 60g rimless cube after the move for a couple years, but used dry rock and it seemed to never take off, just problems.
A few pics of the 240g corals that started as tiny frags and barely made it out of the euro bracing when we took it down, cyano started to kick in from being ignored while moving. Couldn't find a full tank shot.
After a hiatus from any aquariums the last 7 years, we decided to commit to another reef a couple months ago! A 90g peninsula between the living and dining room! Might have to start a build thread for it, even though the build is over for now (does it ever end?). No coral in it yet (except 3 shrooms that were on the live rock), just a few cuc (my wife tossed in all the shells cause she likes watching the blue legged hermits try on new ones), cleaner shrimp and an itty bitty clown. Another clown, blue eyed tang and lawnmower blenny going through some QT love. A couple pics of the new setup, because what fun is a reef without pics.
