Hello!! New guy new tank

Hello everyone,

I’m Jason and I just joined a couple of days ago. I just got into the hobby about a year ago and was and still am a total noob but I absolutely love my tank and this hobby. I’ve wanted a reef tank for as long as I can remember and I finally pulled the trigger last January. I picked up a new Reefer 350 and everything I could imagine id need at the time, ReefWave45 ReefLeds ReefMat setup the sump once established with chaeto seeded it and installed leds in the cabinet huge ReefOctopus Reegal 200 skimmer 4 head doser and probably a lot I’m forgetting about. It’s been a journey to say the least, a lot of lessons learned the hard and the good way but I think I’m finally wrapping my head around the corals and fish and what they need and want to be happy. I’m here to learn from you guys because there is still so much I do not know so hopefully everyone is chill. I’ll include some pics of my tank and corals, still trying to figure out how to get good colorful pics that aren’t too blue or too white ‍ Thanks for having me!!

Welcome! Glad you joined. I sometimes just put orange lens 'reef' sunglasses over my phone's lens, but there are lots of options for camera filters. It seems like you are well on your way!!!

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread under Forum > Member Aquariums and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

Welcome to R2R. Many people use lens filters to get rid of the blue in pictures. I use one from orphek that I like for my phone camera. You can also adjust the white balance on your phone to make the pictures look more natural.
