Hello!

I’m just getting into saltwater for the first time! I’ve kept a couple freshwater tanks the last year, and decided I wanted to try a reef!

there’s been a copious amount of information I’ve already taken away from R2R over the last couple weeks, and I can’t wait to learn more!

I currently live in Boring, and travel between Gresham and Clackamas. The one closest saltwater store in Gresham is getting ready to close it’s store front in the next couple months, so if anyone has recommendations I’m open to them!

I will be hosting my build thread very soon!

The best store in the area is Cuttlefish and Corals. Jeff has a good variety and just redid the shop due to buying out a closing store in the Seattle area. Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Welcome! Glad you joined.

Excited you are already considering starting your Build Thread! I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)

This might help you find people local to you in PNW:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

Welcome!

If you haven't peeped it, PNWMAS.org used to be a very good club back in the day. I haven't been in awhile (I left Oregon), but there are some amazing people there.

Jeff at Cuttlefish and Corals is definitely a great guy and an amazing store. I would also check out Upscales in Tualatin. Just north of where the 205 and 5 meet. Travis and Tom there have done this forever and are both great resources for info.

Enjoy the hobby

Welcome to Reef2Reef! Hopefully you can take advantage of some of their "closing down" prices!
