Hi everyone! I started a 2.5 gal salt tank last november/December after years of wanting one, but traveling around too much for uner/graduate research and school to have one. I'm now working in a marine invert collection and have a bit stabler situation, and my partner made the very sweet but probably terrible decision to finally get me a tank started for Xmas last year...!
I live in FL and love snorkeling, and very occasionally collect critters for work as well. So I'm excited to have a tank to be able to watch lil local guys and temporarily hold critters, in addition to getting a few permanent resident stars...
Now I've got a 10 gal mostly for inverts, a little 2 gallon glass jar with a water bridge to the 10 gal for "pest" critters (it's almost all crabs), and that original 2.5 gallon.
I'll get around to a build thread Soon(TM), but I honestly mostly wanted to join to share my invert experiences. I've wanted a pom pom crab (Lybia sp.) forever and finally got one, and I've got lots of little snails, hermit crabs, and slugs when I can get em, but few people do invert-specific tanks... So I wanted to add to the record for them.
I also just got a yellowface pike blenny from KPAquatics after a harrowing shipping experience, and if he sticks it out (just acclimated!) I want to share my experience with him/her as well.
Cheers!
