Hi all,

Quick info: I was really into reef and plant tanks between 2001-2010. Unfortunately work required me to travel for the next 8 years of my life. Just bought a house and whipped out my old gear. Set up a mixed reef tank that has been running for 2 months. Local Petco shut down so I bought all their “live” rocks. Shocked by the change in technology and fish/coral livestock since 2010.

I created this account because I have been creeping these forums doing research and saw the great active community here. I need help identifying a coral. My girlfriend picked it from a frag pile and I do not know what it is. I cannot find anything like it online. It looks like a skeletal encrusting but it inflates and deflates based on the time of day. Is it a chalice or monti? Any info would be great.

Yo yo reefer 7891........Welcome!
Excellent to see you find your way back to this salty craft! You have also found a brilliant community of dedicated reefers here at R2R. You may get some ID help here in your intro, but posting in a coral ID forum would get you a directed response. Your tank is looking good. Start up a build thread to show off and document progress!
