Hi all, I'm sorry if this is answered elsewhere but I couldn't find it. I have the Evo 13.5 with the Fluval M50 50W Heater, and it'snot getting the job done. Cant get the water above 78 degrees and often lets it fall to 76, I'm wanting too keep it consistently about 79 degrees. I don't want to drop a fortune but I at least want the thing to work. Any suggestions?

Grab an Eheim Jager 100w. Should be more than enough for the tank, and won't break the wallet.

That said, are you sure it's not a thermostat calibration issue? What's your ambient temperature in the room?

I have 2 nicrew 50w heaters in my fluval. Super small and compact and it fits nicely in chamber 2 & 3. Two heaters will helps keep the temp stable and its a backup if your heater breaks (which it will someday) you'll have the other one still running.

It probably is working, depending on your room temp a heater can only raise the temp so much, it can’t keep a tank at 79 if the room it’s in is 20, just add another 50watt, set both to 79, then is one fails the other will keep the temp warm until you replace the broken heater.
