Hey,
I acquired some firework clove polyps a few weeks ago from someone who wanted rid as they were getting stung by another coral.

First week or so they didn't look too good, but a month on they seem pretty happy.

One thing I've noticed is that there are a few stems without heads...

First question is whether these stems will grow heads? Or if not, are there any issues if I prune them or snip them off? I.e. toxins or killing the colony?

Thanks in advance.

That's how the coral grows. I call them "runners," and eventually, they will grow multiple new polyps. In the photo, it looks like it they are trying to find something to grow on to.
