so I got this hammer a few days ago from a friend of mine for my birthday I know everything is SUPER well cared for and can probably find out his parameters if need be. The hammer was super pretty and puffed up when I got it but it’s been sad in my tank for the last 3 or 4 days. Am I not giving enough light? I dont have the fancy app and stuff so it’s hard to tell sometimes and everyone says something different about blues and whites and ramping ect. It looks brown and it’s all shriveled up. I’ve seen 2 polyps fall off. I’ll drop params in the morning when I test but I’m laying in bed and I can’t stop stressing about it. I had a salinity spike from my Ato not turning on and me not noticing and I know that made it mad (tank basically lives in a window so I deal with a ton of evap) can the tank being in a window affect the lighting for my coral? I haven’t dipped in anything yet and I’m dosing tank with ruby reef for clownfish disease. WILL ADD BETTER PHOTOS AND PARAMS IN THE MORNING (it’s currently 5am and lights come on around 8am) can you guys tell I’ve never had coral and I’m already worried I jumped the gun. Tank is 6months old and I have coraline algae growing so I figured it’d be a good time to add something but I may have been wrong

I see you moved it out of the sand and on the rock, good move. Hammers like moderate light ( 100-150 par) and flow. You want to see it jiggling. I can’t tell from the pictures what type of flow is in your tank. A dip in Lugol’s iodine wouldn’t hurt. Mix it with tank water until it is a light ice tea color and place the coral in for about 10 minutes moving water around with a turkey baster. Rinse with tank water and place back in the tank. I really can’t understand the problem until you post your parameters. I’ll check back in.
