Hammer Coral not opening during the afternoon

My hammer coral looks well until about 6:00 in the afternoon when it’s starts to close up. I also have another hammer that does the same, but it’s not as severe. Could it be splitting?

When do you feed and when do your lights go off?

Lights go off at 7:00. I feed my tank in the morning but the last time i fed my coral was Friday.

The first few times it was just expelling waste, but it didn’t yesterday.

Some of my coral will close once it gets closer to my lights going off. I don't think there is anything wrong with your hammers

Agreed, mine close up before lights are out too.

Funny how they know.

OP, if you want them out longer shift the light schedule to later.
