I have a bunch of hair algae in my 29-gallon aquarium I have a yellow watchman goby 2 hermit crabs 2 Mexican terbo snails and a conch. I have increased the flow in my tank and am going to upgrade the lights what other suggestions do you guys have.

I need help!!!!

You can have 'ugly' stages off and on for up to a year (6 months is most common from what I've seen on here) as the tank balances bacteria, algae, coral, livestock, feedings, etc. That doesn't mean that your diatoms will last 6 months, they should only last a few weeks or so once it starts. There's recommendations on here for managing but I think most just wake up day on they're gone never to return. For me that happened at the 5 month point and by 6 month there were gone.
