Hello,

I have a 10 mixed reef with a clown fish and a cleaner shimp and tons of coral. have been battleing some GHA and what I think is Dinos (brown, stringy, bubbles, worse during the day and dissapears at night) for months. I just lost 2 sps frags to the dinos smothering. I think this all stemmed from my nutrients bottoming out a few months ago.

I now dose PO4 and NO3 to keep PO4 at 0.04-0.06 and NO3 between 5-10.

I am seeing threads about dosing H202 1mL/10g/day for Dinos and other algaes. Whats your guys opinion on the safety of this for my clown and cleaner shrimp? I will obvisouly be very careful not to overdose. From what I am seeing, this should be safe if I stick to recommended dosage.

Thoughts?

Thanks!!Attach files

If the dinos disappear at night, a uv sterilizer should destroy them. I personally am not a fan of hydrogen peroxide dosing because its indescriminate

this tank is 10gallons and no sump so UV would not be possible i believe

You can add a cheap internal uv sterilizer until the dinos are gone. The green killing machine is my favorite but there are plenty of random brand ones on amazon

Raise phosphate to 0.10ppm at minimum. Install a uv sterilizer like @Spare time suggested. That should help. You can turkey baste the dinos to encourage them to go into the water column, thus, sterilizing them.
