Gyre VS powerhead/wavemaker? If you could only have a single wave pump in a tank, would one be better than the other?

In my next set up (40 gallons) would love to have a single wave pump for a clean aesthetic look. . . would a traditional powerhead/wavemaker or gyre be better for this application?

Tough but I would lean gyre as it moves a wider volume water.

I have always used multiple wavepumps in previous tanks. My 4’ 65 gallon has 4 of the jebao version of the Nero. My 8’ 240 I’m building I’m going to try two jebao gyres. Never used a gyre style pump before.
