Hey y’all, been thinking about a new project for my reef tank and have seen many people trying to grow mangroves and thought I’d give it a shot. Any suggestions and is there a certain way they need to grow and how too?

There should be a few good threads on it already. I remember one great one that I haven't heard from in a while but I followed. I will send the link if I remember.

I remember seeing that thread a year or two ago. I love seeing mangroves in tanks ever since seeing one in Julian Sprung's tank.

Here's a thread to check out.

I actually setup a 10g meant to be the start of a mangrove tank. Then I needed to turn it into a fry tank for my freshwater tanks because I had so many fry between my corydoras catfish, mollies, and blind cave tetras. Now it's going to be turned into a cactus garden which will be watered by leftover freshwater tank water post water changes and some rodi. Remembering this thread makes me debate trying something with my 60g.

They love strong light and love to be misted.

I grew some hydroponically in freshwater (40 Breeder) and man they took off. Ran mostly T5 daylight bulbs and they loved it, but they can handle strong 6500K light and thrive.
