I purchased a bottle of copepods from the lfs and was going to try to grow them.

1) is an air stone needed or can I stir the jar a few times a day?

2) can I feed reef roids or does it have to be live phyto?

3) I see floating particles but nothing moving is that common?

No need for the air stone, you just need the airline to go to the base of the container. If you do use an air stone (to achieve weighing down the tube) then turn the valve all the way down so there’s a gentle trickle of bubbles.

Not sure about reef roids but an easy and economical option for feeding them is Spirulina. You can buy this in 1/2 pound bags from Amazon or Whole Foods (it’s human food also) for like $9. Just mix a pinch with some water in a little bottle, shake it up and add it to the pods.

Are you culturing Tigger pods?
