Greetings,

New to the forum but not the hobby itself. We've got a 200 and 300 gallon mixed reef tanks, one all setup with Apex automation, the other a good mix of DIY systems.

So I had this reddish translucent blob pop up about three weeks ago. It's growing fast and I'm really not sure what it is. Thinking sponge but haven't seen anything quite like it before. It's a firm jelly type thing that's growing in an established tank. Fully cycled, currently has some hair algae and bit of green bubble algae but nothing crazy, except for this thing.

Suspect it could have come in with some recent frags I added.

Anyone seen anything like this before?

About to pull it out but wanted to ask first, it's rather pretty... just worried that it may be pretty harmful if left in the tank.

Thanks for any input.

Looks like macroalgae but can also be a mushroom
