The topmost rock in my tank comes up to about the 3/4 mark, and if I do a large W/C, some coral will be exposed to air. As of tight now, just a flow-happy torch and a couple Green Slimer frags an LFS owner gave me to try out.

I've seen exposed reefs before out in the wild, but I don't know much about which coral can take it and which will react really poorly. I don't think all of our household coral would find themselves exposed to air. I used to never allow my corals to be exposed to air except very breifly during fragging, and even then it used to stress me out. That was a long time ago, though.

Am I better off just never going that far down, or is it a non-issue for coral?

Edit- Title was meant to be "Green Slimers and Torches", oops.
