Believe name is some form of gorgonian

probably 4 years old

2 years in this tank now, 2 in previous

conditons i consider stable
Alk 8.9
Calcium 470
Mag 1376
Nitrates 15
Phosphates .1 or less

the tops seem to be not so hot for condition

Cut down-let it go
Really not looking to move it in tank-dont gave a spot really

lights were just coming on

It is a gorgonian and will need pics under white lighting to identify. Its a Photosythetic species.

I have the exact same problem with the exact same gorgonian. The problem is the soft coral next to it. A lot of soft corals give off chemicals so that other corals can't intrude in its space. My gorg grew very fast until it grew too close to a softie, then it started to look like yours.

W/white lights
This gorgonian needs to be in path of medium flow and light with some iron and potassium added to water occasionally. They need daily feedings also of phytoPlankton.
