Hello! l am looking to set up a refugium in the back chamber of my biocube 32, I already have the intank media and fuge basket (got them both on a sale) and am wondering what sort of light would be good for this sort of setup. Not trying to grow anything crazy, just chaeto and try and get a sustainable pod population going. What sort of lights have you guys used? The hood is still on btw, and I would like to keep the price under 40$ US. Thanks!

I used this with the InTank setup. Worked great. I did have to scrape the inside of the glass in the back once in a while to make sure the light could get through

That was my first choice for a light! Unfortunately the 70$ price is a bit high. Thanks though!

I used a 100w led bulb combined with a gooseneck fixture with a clamp.
It grew Cheato like crazy, but for your tank something like this might work better:

Tunze makes it, and its waterproof so you can keep just below the surface, it goes for a little more then 40$ though.

On a 29 biocube running since 2014, with media and refugium basket in back, I started with the JBJ nanoglo mentioned. It had 4 bright white LEDs and I had to mount it on the wall behind the tank because when I mounted it directly on the glass, the chaeto closest to it would bleach. I also had to shield the sides to reduce light scatter in the room at night. Last year it stopped working, I replaced it with the IM 9w chaetomax mentioned, and stuck it to the back glass. The chaeto growth with this light is much better with no bleaching whatsoever mounted directly on the back glass. Didn’t have to shield and there is a really nice pink glow coming from behind the tank at night. The red LEDs really do make a difference.
IMHO, worth $70. I used to run a bag of chemipure and purigen in the media basket. I pulled them both and keep just a filter pad up top. The chaeto is keeping nutrients in check beautifully along with a aquatic sealife skimmer in chamber 1. Look at this chaeto brick ready to be cut in half lengthwise.

I love my JBJ Nano light! It's held in place via a magnet placed on the inside of the second chamber! I like the fact it's easy to adjust. I hooked it up to a smart plug so it turns on when my daylights are off.

I recently purchased this HOB mini fuge for $59.95 from Saltwater Aqaurium.com, so far it's very cool! Even came with the led fuge light. My only issue is I'm running it on a Red Sea Max 130D and I can't hang it off back of tank (even though I have upgraded the tank i.e. removed stock hood and T5 lights and set up one AI Hydra 26HD led light) the black plastic rim and plastic fixtures in back of tank I don't dare try to remove in fear I might crack the tank/glass.
