A bonded pair would probably be the easiest. You'll pay a little more for them though. Buying them individually doesn't guarantee they will form a symbiotic relationship.

I bought a tiger pistol shrimp and a yellow watchman goby separately but put them in the tank at the same time and they bonded as soon as they found each other again. It is super entertaining to watch them work together though!

i have 4 gobies in my 120 DT and 1 pistol. NO PAIRING!! Think the pistol chowed down a yasha and firefish as well!!!

I would look for a pair. I purchased mine separate but at the same time from the same display and they went to opposite sides of tank.
