I picked up 11 zoa/palys and a bounce yuma frag… unfortunately every one of the frags is doing well except the gmk zoa lol.

Gmk was a wysiwyg single polyp but came with two because the 2nd polyp was closed. Even saw it closed it the picture. Well, the main one was fully open for a few days but now stays almost closed with just a litttle peaking out. It alternates from being tightly closed to mildly closed. Funny thing is the “free” polyp is now slightly open. I moved the frag around to find a better spot. Right now in low light and medium flow. Any other suggestions?

All the other 11 frags are fully open: halle barry, hawaiian ding dang, warlock, ultimate chaos, etc

Happy to report, both polyps of the GMK have been open consistently for a week now. Hoping they do well :)

What was it that made them open back up?

Not really sure.. I moved it around a little, adjusted the flow here and there.. And then I just left it alone and it started to open up, then stayed open for a few weeks.

Now suddenly its semi open only lol.

Well, changing from monthly water chagne to weekly water change.. I also started dosing trace elements and lowered NP to 6ppm and 0.06ppm.. GMK is now always open 24/7.

Old NP was around 15 and .1ppm.

I think this is the ticket.

Wow that’s almost too low for zoas. I wonder if they prefer cleaner water than most zoas
