Has anyone envelopes seen this done?

I have a IM 40-Long on order and plan on running bare bottom with minimal rock structures so for additional rock surface area I was thinking of glue these pieces to the entire back wall.

What do you think?

I did something similar with my RS 170 to cover the overflow. I siliconed the flat edges against the glass and they’ve held on with no problem. The tank is a nem only with clowns and also bare bottom.

I think it would look great make sure it’s good strong glue or you could use reef safe clear silicon . You could point bits outwards for coral placement . People have used none toxic expanding foam as a rocked back wall. Keep us updated on your progress thanks for sharing your ideas

I use single frag plug holders to put coral right on the glass. Once it grows onto the glass and gets some coverage I take the holder and plug out, leave what's on the glass.

If you insisted on rock, cover magnets fiberglass resin. Then use JB water weld to glue one side of the magnet to your freshly cut rock.

So theres a guy that builds terrariums on IG and he has glued rock and stuff to a back wall before. The one he did was for a gecko but I remember him saying that adhesive he used was safe for aquatic too. Let me see if I can find it

I wouldn't recommend gluing it to the back wall of a tank. Better to cut an acrylic insert and glue the rock onto that, in case the tank should break or leak.

Excellent idea, use Aquarium Silicone Caulk, made for Aquariums. Carefully lay Aquarium on its back. Remember to check the fit of any external filter parts before glueing. BTW, Super Glue will let go after a while, except if used on the plastic Overflow. Also I’d get a Philips Advent Brush to clean the Rock during the ugly stage.
