I have managed to get a giesmann infiniti for £40 all working.
My question is as I have not used halides for 20yrs will this fixture light a 30inch deep tank?
Tank is 48x30x30.
I currently run X2 radion xr15pro T5 combo giesmann stellar.

Yes, but I don't know if you will be able to keep a clam on the bottom, as they like high par. That's a fairly deep tank.

How high off the water will the fixture be mounted?

150w infinity de would be a low light tank for a 30” hight.. Depending on ballast and bulb selection you might see 300-400 par at very top and 100 (or less) on the bottom. The t5 save it from being completely worthless.

I’m a halide lover, but this is a downgrade from your 2x xr-15 pro and t5 combo.

May be able to convert it to use 250w bulbs, just a few dollars on the bulb sockets and rescrewing them the appropriate distance apart for 250w bulb

250w would certainly give you the right intensity. Double ended bulbs selection is limited these days. See what you can find. I wish phoenix 14k were still available.

I thought that would be the case I have refurbished the giesmann so I might sell

I found de bulbs 20k at a good price
I paid £27 for the two.
The colour looks great too.
I was hoping it's was the 250w version when I bought it.
I might just add a kessil 500 in the middle of my radions to give me some shimmer

Stay away from the cheap ones on eBay. Those marine color bulbs explode.
