Giant Hawkfish

Just ordered one and I don’t see much on here about them.

Anyone ever cared for one before?

They seem kinda grouper-ish to me.

Any personal anecdotes are appreciated.

Yes I have heard that but any pic I’ve seen the hawk is laying on the sand.

Have you owned one?

The one I got is only 3 inches and won’t go in the big tank for a while. My Tessalata eel has been trying to get out unsuccessfully for years lol.

Does it grow quickly?

This guy will reach an easy 12" or more and requires large portions of food such as whole scallops, cut up shrimp as examples. Not a fish to keep with inverts such as ornamental shrimp and crabs. It must be kept with fish its size

I’ve got a few in there that size now…there’s some hermits have made it through the years. Not sure how…lol
