Hey all! I recently got a pre QT'd gem tang.
He went through the ringer of copper @2.3ppm for 16days, prazi, some metro, and a few other drugs ive already forgotten.

Anyways he seems pretty darn healthy to me, but from what i can see they seem to almost like have a delay on grabbing food?? Like they eat norri off the clip no problem but the moment i toss in mysis they just kinda watch it float by, then a second or two later lunge for the mysis that has already flown past lol.

In the QT they ate mysis no problem... but there was no flow.

Just wondering if anyone else has a tang with a latency of 1-2 seconds lol

*edit just a picture of em :)"

Tangs have different personalities and will do this. My gem heads right for the food and is a model citizen

Yea they are EXPENSIVE
a regular clown is like 2500-3500 yen (18$-$25) Ok that doesn't seem like much in USD but 2500 is a pretty good lunch or 2-3 regular lunches

Coral prices are so much worse though
a 4cm frag of not green GSP was 6500 yen last time I went to lfs I think

You also don't get a lot of the good equipment here that everyone else around the world uses.
International shipping is very expensive too

I want to move to US or Indonesia badly :smiling-face-with-tear:

An amazing tang gang!!!!

Id do alot for a fully grown yellow. But since the ban all ive been able to find is just the biota ones. And paying 175 CAD for a tang the size of a pingpong ball kinda hurts lol

Looks like you could repopulate the oceans if there’s a die off. Do any of them pair up and try to reproduce? That would be cool.
No . . . . Ihave had them 5+ years and I am just grateful they get along

Wow that is stunning!
How big is that tank?
Feeding into my craving for a bigger tank :)

I'm picking up 4 tanks (three 45 gallons and 1 65 gallons) but I doubt even the 65 gallon is big enough for a tang.
I might put a baby tang for a year or two
But I'd rather do what's best for the fish, not for my eyes
