Hello I purchased and up right freezer from Lowes about a month ago, we also purchased the extended warranty, I asked the sales rep if the stand up freezer can be kept in the garage and not void the warranty, she stated that they can and will not void the warranty.

So fast forward I have thermometer inside and I have noticed that the temp is at 8.0 degrees in the afternoon and 0.6 at night,

Our normal temps during the summer are 95 to 115 with about 33% humidity.
So if this freezer cannot handle average to lower temps. IE 95 fright now. how in the heck will it handle 115? Wet floors, ruined food.
Can I return it? What are my options?

You will have to go to Lowe's to find out, not here. I will say I have a fridge/freezer combo plus an upright freezer in my garage and the temps were 106 today and the upright says it is at 0. You can check if it is running all the time during the day. If not then maybe you need to check the temp setting.

There are things you can do to make it cooler in your garage such as putting insulation on the garage door.

Thanks Opus, I pulled my freezer from the wall to get better air circulation, I will go to Lowes and speak with them about my concerns.
My garage door is insulated, and the garage has a long way to getting very hot in there.

My biggest issue has been with the cold and the fridge/freezer combo. My understanding is the fridge is cooled by the freezer but the fridge is the one that calls for the cooling. When it gets too cold outside the fridge stays cool and doesn't need to switch on so it never turns the freezer on and the freezer gets too warm. During the winter I have to turn the fridge down to freezing so that the freezer side stays frozen.

Yeah my new fridge with barn doors and lower freezer works so well, heads and shoulder better than are old side by side unit. I bought a new thermometer for my freezer for the garage and let you know what it reads.

I have always found the traditional freezer on top models cool the best for at least the fridge, freeze milk.

It is really sad I have a fridge/freezer inside, plus one in the garage and then the upright freezer (largest I could find) and I'm thinking about getting a chest freezer because I have no room for storing meat.

Lowes actually sells a pretty big chest freezer that can also be a fridge, and it is made for the garage. If I had the room I would have purchased that one.
