Hi y’all, I’m considering a fuge over a skimmer to start. I’m unclear as to the set up.
The IM instructions are to use the media caddy to hold the cheato. Is it then supposed to be placed in the middle chamber after a sock? In the middle chamber all the water won’t flow through it. Or is it supposed to go in the first chamber and replace the sock? But then there isn’t any mechanical filtration. Or, can the cheato free float in the middle chamber? I’m pretty sure it would at some point get into the return pump and jam it up so I don’t think that’s the answer.
Anybody have the solution I’m missing?? Please and thank you.

HI, I have this same IM. I placed mine in the FIRST chamber. and the second chamber for the media basket. Then cut the black peel backing off of the first chamber, and use the IM Chateo Light...stick it on that way. I have now moved away from chaeto, and gone with the Sera Crystal Clear Filter Medium along with mangroves in the first and 3rd chambers.
