Ordered an Eheim classic for the daughters freshwater tank. Came in broken today, see pics. I don't think that will affect the performance at all and she'd be dying to set it up. Would you keep it or return it? I'm sure I can return it, but it would be a pain and I would have to send it back to chewy. On top of that, I'm sure it would go right into a landfill. They won't resell it for scrap parts or do anything with it. I image it will be garbage. Anyone have any experience with these common filters? I'm afraid to test it with water and void the return policy.

Most likely will work fine but I would return without a doubt
Thanks. Yeah, that's what I'm leaning towards. What a waste? I wonder if there's a small chance they'll just tell me to keep it and I can offer it up to someone for spare parts. It's definitely the waste that bothers me more than having to box it back up and send it back to Chewy. I don't get how they just put a few pieces of paper and consider that good enough.
