Hello,

I've had a fromia starfish for a few days now. Today I noticed some tissue coming out of one of the legs. The first couple days it was moving around and up on the glass, but this afternoon it was down kind of slumped down on the sand and glass.

I drip acclimated it on Saturday (so 6 days ago) for 4 hours.

Parameters
pH 8.17
Alk 9.6
Calcium 455
Mag 1350
Salinity 34
Temp 77.1
Phosphates 0.13
Nitrate 1

Any ideas on what I could do to save it? Cut a leg off?

Thanks everyone

How old is the tank? Is it dirty enough to sustain it or do you hand feed it? Never had one of those guys before but something’s definitely going on :(

first lets get the basics out of the way, any param shifts? how old is the tank? what size?

also do you have enough trace elements (iodine, etc)? ever used any meds in the water?
Tank is about 14 months old. The only parameter shift was phosphate. I added a half dose of GFO to my reactor because my phosphates were high (but stable at) 0.61.

In 1 day they dropped to 0.14 (yesterday), and 0.13 today. No shift in any other parameter.

I did treat the tank with prazipro about 4 weeks ago, but have done a few water changes, run carbon, and skimmer.

In terms of trace elements, I dose Tropic Marin All For Reef daily on a doser.

Tank is about 14 months old. I feed frozen twice a day. Today I just put some frozen under it. No idea what to try. Thinking maybe cut the leg off but idk
