So looking to get some help or ideas from you smart people out there. I’m about 7 months into the hobby and I’m at a research dead end. My frogspawn/octospawn (what ever you want to call it) is, from what I can tell happy. It gets nice and fluffy every day. It’s heads have split from 2 to now 4. At night when it’s closed up a bit I can count 6-7 new little heads starting down at the base.

My question is, every few weeks I’ll see one of the little “babies” floating around the tank. It usually ends up at the base of a rock on the sand. Stays there for a few days then disappears. Not sure if they are blown away or eaten or what. I’ve tried using a turkey baster to suck it up and place it on a rock and hope it attaches. A few days later it has disappeared. It’s happened about 3 times so far. I’d love to keep them alive and maybe grow them out. Plus my daughter gets excited to see the babies, then sad when they disappeare/die.

I need some help, has anyone else seen this? What can I do to keep them alive?

I don't think that's a bailout because the mother colony looks in good health. That looks like the end of a tentacle got clipped off. I've had that happen while cleaning the glass. Make sure it doesn't land on any sensitive or less aggressive corals :)
