Hey everyone!!

Just wanted to share a quick thread after chopping two of my OG Bounce Mushrooms up.

Both frags were about the size of a quarter. I did my best to get a piece of foot on each frag and I think have a mouth on 6/7 frags :D. I used a brand new razor and tile cutters. Here are some pics!

Before the cut (only took this one picture.

I’ll try to keep updating with pictures and if they make it or not. I got a little greedy with a couple, so we shall see!!!

Nice! So many people are scared to chop up their expensive mushrooms but it’s so easy to do.

I’ve had my best luck fragging them into 2-3 from a medium-large sized shroom. I’ve gotten aggressive with the fragging before (6-8 off one shrooand lost a few or the recovery time was excessively long. I think a lot of it depends on flow, keep them somewhere where they won’t want to release their foot and blow away!

Soon you’ll have lots of mommas which makes chopping them up a lot less stressful!

I’ve never kept any of these fancy bounce mushrooms, but I’m kind of surprised at how well they’ve kept their value given how easy they are to propagate as the two posts have shown.

I remember a post on nano reef maybe 15 years ago about people putting mushrooms through a blender or slap chop…In case anyone wants to risk an OG Bounce to get rich.

They are fast growers and easy to frag — not sure why some retailers/reefers are still demanding a premium price tbh.
I think though they are easy to frag and keep they are not that easy to find.. maybe that will change in the next 5 years, but my opinion is most average reefers don’t want to spend 3-400 bucks on a frag

I paid $150 for my Sunkist Bounce 3+ years go. So if sell my frags for $50 each, I got my money back AND a free colony with 4 other fat mammas? hmmm... Guess I'm still operating at a "loss" not counting water, salt, electricity, and inflation! lol Not sure about the OG Bounce but I can see other Bounce mushrooms go cheaper by the days...I personally think that this hobby is getting ridiculous but recognizing capitalism.

@THESTRZA - how to easily distinguish between the OG vs Sunkist mushrooms? One of your OG pics looks like my Sunkist. I’m not a Bounce expert here.
Hey!! Very easy - i have a large sunkist myself and the OG is like neon versus the flatter Sunkist. They arent too different movement wise though

Shrooms are very easy to cut like mentioned in previous posts. #1 most important part is to get a piece of the frag plug or rock with a good piece of its foot firmly attached especially with og’s. Don’t even be concerned if you get part of a mouth. The foot is what is important. If they release their foot it is extremely difficult to get them to plant their foot again. Og’s can tend to easily release their foot and get blown away.

Throw a rubber band down the middle of it.
