this ones for you sluf,

I read an article from a prestigious propagator, he stated the dirtier the frag tank the better for growth!!! imagine that. The tank we saw a few month ago that looked like some one used it for a toilet, that's why all the coral were in such good shape.

I'm not sure I agree....detritus is a *****. I did a MAJOR cleanup on my frag tank last night. I was surprised at how the mats of zoas and palys were not very dense at all, very "sprawling" would be a good description. The result was that zoas didn't pack together tightly. I believe that detritus buildup inhibits the normal spread of the mats. BTW...my frag tank was pretty nasty.
