foxface injury?

Recently bought a foxface and noticed a white area in middle of his body directly left of the black spot. It doesn't appear to be any disease I am aware of. Looks like a white indention. It's not spreading or getting worse. Looks like something just scraped off some skin/scales. Fish is eating well and doesn't seem to be acting strange. Currently in QT. Any ideas?

I'm no disease expert, but it looks like a little injury maybe from capture. It looks a little on ths skinny side, I suspect that will go away as he fills out a some. What are you feeding it?

Appears to be post injury with a blemish left behind BUT Do keep an eye on it.
I assume good appetite, breathing and active ?

I just got it from a fellow reefer who had it for 7 months. It eats a 2" or so square of nori daily, half a cube of omnivore frozen mix, and maybe half a cube of frozen mysis, frozen angel mix, bloodworms, pretty much everything I've offered it.

Perfectly fine in all regards. Eats everything I have offered.

Sounds like you have its diet covered. That's good. I think mine may just be fat. I'm going to need a waterproof scale so I can put him on a diet.

The rest of my fish are fat too, so this one will get there.

The fish looks a bit skinny to me as well - your diet sounds fine, perhaps just increase the amounts a bit, and possibly the frequency?

I see the divots you are talking about. I've seen them before on other fish. I don't know what they are caused by, but I've always wondered if it has something to do with the structure of the muscle tissue under the skin there, like perhaps an old injury that resulted in some tissue loss?
