I have been working on starting a saltwater adventure. After learning by reading, I started by setting up water production, followed by tank, rocks, and substrate. After getting the tank up and running, I found cycling to longer than what I thought. I used Dr. Tim’s fishless cycle method. Although ammonia levels dropped pretty quickly, my nitrite levels remained high for quite some time. After reading as much as I could, I let patience rule and things finally finished up. Yesterday, I got my first fish. 2 small clowns and a firefish goby. I did not quarantine fish. I figured the new tank will be the quarantine for these, and I have another tank set up for future quarantine.
