I guess this is as good a time as any to start a new build thread, though the circumstances weren't ideal......

Woke up this past weekend to water on my floor. My 24g AIO split a crack across the entire base of the tank, leaving me in scramble mode. After getting my livestock and rock into buckets, the search was on for a replacement tank.

Was looking for a JBJ locally but to no avail. Came across the Fluval Evo 13.5, and figured it looked like a decent tank, even if just temporary, to hold my inhabitants. Took a couple hour drive, got the tank, and here we go!

Current stocking are:
Black Oscellaris
Flurry Clownfish
Royal Gramma
Pink Spotted Watchman Goby

Have a small rock with some Zoas, some GSP, and a BTA at the front of the tank. Basic CUC. Will be adding more coral shortly.

I've seen the vast number of mods for this tank, and I'm not sure which route I'm going to go at this point, as I really do like the tank and plan on it being a long term established build. I have a Noopsyche Mini I can throw on if needed, a Jaebao power-head, my ATO, all from the other tank. I've added a skimmer, which I'm seeing mixed thoughts on, and will be upgrading chamber 2 with a new InTank basket.

Let's see where this goes......

Pretty scary! Everyone's worst nightmare. Glad you were able to get everything moved over. I love those little Fluvals!

Sorry for the tank loss. Glad you saved everything. I have a rather modded BioCube for freshwater at the moment myself. It was my first foray into salt. I personally like smaller tanks and have a 22 Gallon FiJi Cube that I rebooted last week.

Got a great picture of the Goby today. I've had this guy for 3 years, through a 50g Cube, 24g AIO, and now this, and this is the most active, most visible he has been in all this time. He used to just hide all day and only come out to eat. Now, he's out more, moving sand and shells, not as skittish.

I guess today is just a good day of seeing my fish that were skittish being much more comfortable. This Royal Gramma has done nothing but hide for the past 2 months since acquiring. The large rock structure in the tank has many crevices that go through it, giving her (my wife says it's a she....) plenty of places to hide and feel safe.

Today, completely free swimming without any of the skittish tendencies of the past.

Maybe this tank was something I needed all along.

Grabbed a few corals yesterday from my local guy who's running a Christmas sale!! Added 3 Duncan's (6 heads total, $30), a Candy Cane with 14 heads ($40), some misc Zoa's/Pally's ($9 ea), and a euphyilla he said was a frammer, but I have no idea ($30).

Not a bad haul I'd say.

Sunday update. Everything is good, BTA is out and hungry, about to feed, clean, and do a water change.

My emerald crab has been fun to watch. My Black Oscellaris has decided to host my candy cane...... not ideal, but no issues yet lol.

Hello @Kinettik

My nephew was going to sell his setup (it's at our house) only because he found a great deal a complete 29g setup, but he couldn't sell it and is keeping it now.

But if you click here https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/fluval-evo-13-5-complete-setup-with-upgrades.1032271/

you can see all the upgrades we did. We researched a lot to find all the tips and tricks for the Evo 13.5 and did a lot of stuff.

It's a pretty amazing tank, and he's glad he's keeping it now.

1 Black Ice Clown, 1 Neon Goby, 1 Firefish. 1 Peach Hammer, 1 Gold Hammer and 1 Bi Color Hammer, a few zoas and I've donated a few of my anacropora frags to him.
