Do you have a return pump in the AIO insert already? I’m considering an upgrade to a 40B ant some point and I was envisioning something like this for flow. Planning to have two wavemakers on each end, one aimed at the surface for agitation and the other a few inches below the surface for a randomized flow.

I recommend using two Nero 3 powerheads. Position them on one side of the tank and activate the pulse setting. Place them 180 degrees out of sync with a 30s interval. This configuration will result in alternating activation, with one powerhead operating for 30 seconds while the other remains idle.

There is a wide range of customizable flow patterns, allowing you to tailor the water movement to your specific requirements.

My 40 breeder has 2 gyres plus the return.

Its hard to recommend something, there are hundreds of choices, it comes down to how much do you want to spend. I suggest to go with a controllable pump so that way you can adjust the flow to your liking.
