I have a IM 25 lagoon (dimensions L=25in W=23in H=11in) I am really struggling to figure out how to set up its flow. I plan on keeping lps corals like, blastos, duncans, torches, hammers, gsp, and waving hand anthelia. I also would like to keep a crocea clam and feather dusters. Right now my flow nozzles have a blind spot right next to the overflow chambers where the filtration is(video below). I am considering getting the IM spin stream nozzle would that help? Also wondering if I need a power head or not.

These pumps are also adjustable what should I set them too? Or should I just get better pumps?

do you have documentation on your return pump that states the flow rate? Usually expressed in gallons/liters per hour. As for a powerhead, something along the size of a Nero 3 would be sufficient.

Nero 3 is 2000gph and $200 I’m looking for something lower end and cheaper any more suggestions? Thanks!

The return pumps are 130gph at maximum
So doing some rough math:

Assuming you have roughly 22 gallons of water, each pump will turn over your tank volume 6 times at max flow. I assume you have two?

I would set to about 60% and see how things look.

As for cheaper power heads: a lot of folks use some that are sold on Amazon, such as This one

Yes I have two and I have them set to here hard to tell how much it’s flowing because it’s just a manual dial

You can visually see the opening. Set it to half, then increase a bit. After you get it running, watch the tank. If you still have dead spots, increase the opening and follow up with power heads

There's another option you might consider. You can run two 1/2in Random Flow Generator nozzles and upgrade the return pump.

You can start off with your current pumps, but you may find you get better results with something a little stronger. two pumps at 200-250- GPH each or a single pump in the 400 tp 500 GPH range.

Essently, If you can increase the flow output to something in the 450 to 500+ GPH range then you should be able to do this tank with LPS and softies without any power heads.

For instance, if you ran a single IM Mightlyjet 538, and

two 1/2in RFG will easily flow that entire tank.

You would need two 1/2in RFGs, and two 19mm Slip-For-Drop adapters.

You'll find both of these options at all the major online retailers and possible you local fish store. You'll also find them on our own website here:

I think I have one of these laying around somewhere. @BristleWormHater , you are more than welcome to have it if I can find it. Also, if your looking for a more affordable powerhead that is tunable, the jebao pumps like This are fantastic

Nice! That's super cool of you :)

Do you have the 19mm slip-fit-drop adapter as well? For that tank, the adpaper is required for the 1/2i RFG to get it below the water line
