Just doing some middle of the night tank maintenance and replaced my float valve from ato. It has a small metal screw how concerned should I be with it rusting etc? Ty

I am guessing it should be a minimum of 304 ss, so it will discolor but not rust.Is it above or below the water line? does it stick to a magnet? if you are concerned replace it will a nylon bolt
Yea I tried replacing it with the red sea float valve screw, it's plastic or nylon but it broke. I'll try a magnet rn it's under the water line tho

Edit: just tried to stick a small fridge magnet to it but didn't stick.

So, I was woken up by the sound of a trickly overflow and sump water was running a bit low so I'm assuming the new float valve wasn't working correctly. Soo I just took that part out. I still have my sensor ato with an almost 5 gallon reservoir but removing the red sea ato just makes my amount of reservoir water a bit smaller. If that makes sense.. I'm just done dealing with float valves.. thanks for the advice on the screw tho. I appreciate it
