Which do you prefere? Is one more reef safe than the other?
I have had both and they seem to have corals they prefer, so depending on the type of coral you may have better luck with one fish over the other. Also the coral load makes a difference on how many there are, the more coral the more likely they will be to possibly only nip at a few and not cause damage. They are nippers they do it all day long to the glass the rock and of course the corals. My current flame angel hasn't touched my zoas or a few acros like the green slimer and a few others, but it nips others all day long and they have zero daytime polyp extension.

Both are amazing fish that love darting in and out of the rock work, definitely both are a must have fish at some point!

There is not a 100% reef safe Angel. Even the ones like Lamarck has been reported to pick at corals every now and then. Same can be said about some tangs. You just have to make sure the coral growth and the amount of coral outgains the occasional mistake or snacking by your supposedly reef safe friends.
